Children First Communities in School of Buncombe County
In 2022 Children First reached out to me for help with developing an updated local and statewide media press list to help make press release distribution for fundraisers and community events more manageable for their staff.
Together we collaborated on the Kids Ask video series. Our number one goal was to explain their services and mission in a way that even an elementary student could understand - a task often easier said than done. I am proud to have storyboarded, filmed and edited this 6-part series for Children First. It turned out to be such a fun and light way to discuss the complex work that this organization does for families in the Asheville area. They still use the video b-roll of their staff to this day.
Children First hired me to add capacity during a local fundraising event. I provided day-of photography and follow-up graphics for social media. I also developed some simple, graphics for their website to show off their impressive work throughout WNC.

Firefly Valley Pottery
I love working with small businesses who give back, like Firefly Valley Pottery. In 2024, we began making improvements to their website and polishing their promotional materials for events.
Many of their web pages got a visual face-lift that included better photography, consistent buttons and fonts, and mobile-optimized text containers that scale for all screen sizes.
I researched and implemented the improved Bookings system in Wix that saved her customers money when registering for pottery courses. This was a pain point for Firefly Valley's customers and I'm pleased to alleviate that extra fee, which in turn encouraged better sales for 2025.
To boost local awareness, we developed printed posters and handouts to take to local events and display at coffee shops. We experimented with a Google Ad Words budget and were successful in boosting online traffic by 111 percent.
Lastly, to help Firefly Valley continue their amazing mission, I crafted a Firefly-themed scholarship with a mobile-ready donation form.

CleanEnergy.org
While on staff at the Southern Alliance for Clean Energy (SACE), I was the project manager for the website overhaul of our main site (cleanenergy.org) and our separate blog site (blog.cleanenergy.org). This was a year-long project between the organization and an Asheville-based web firm.
My responsibility was sifting through 10+ years of web and blog content, deciding what needed to stay and what needed to migrate over. I worked with the web developers to streamline content and integrate our blog. The organization's blog was hosted on a separate URL, therefore splitting our web traffic and creating twice the work for staff. Merging the blog with the main site was my recommendation to help with SEO and streamline the organization’s online voice.
During the website overhaul, I worked with the staff designer/videographer to storyboard compelling photos and videos that told the organizations’ story in a visual and personal way. Lastly, I set up Google tracking and analytics for the new site so staff could understand what content was getting engagement. Equally as important, the tracking helped the organization evaluate what content was not getting traction, allowing staff to prioritize valuable time and resources.
Another big project during my time on staff was learning and implementing a new CRM for sending emails, tracking engagement and creating landing pages for taking action. For each email, our goals were to have consistent branding, eye-catching graphics, relatable messaging, and a clear call to action. See below for visual examples of the work I did for SACE.
