Fisherman’s Post
Facelift

Fisherman’s Post is a saltwater fishing newspaper that covers coastal North Carolina. While on staff in 2014, I managed a site re-design that prioritized images and their weekly fishing reports. This project is a good example of how freshening up the design and rethinking how your content is organized can greatly improve user experience and increase site traffic. I worked with a Wilmington-based web firm on this project which took six months to complete.

Old Fisherman’s Post website with only one image and small text alongside the left column. This site did not re-size for mobile, making it very difficult access on a phone or tablet.

Here is the Fisherman’s Post website which prioritized images and made the weekly fishing reports into big clickable buttons along the left column. On mobile, this site now resizes and stacks nicely for easy scrolling.
